This page contains answers to common questions handled by our support staff, along with some tips and tricks that we have found useful and presented here as questions.

How do I get started ?

  • Well, first of all download the program. Install The Collector's Crown, and start it.

  • You can now try the program for 20 times.

  • Before this  expires go to the Buy Now page on this Web Site and press the required button to pay via PayPal. This is a secure payment facility on the Internet.

  • Write down your payment reference, and then go back to the program, into the Registration Screen,  enter your payment reference in the order no field - as well as all other fields, and e-mail the request for your Registration, again using the e-mail button.

  • As soon as your payment has been received, we will e-mail you your Registration Key. Enter it as before, and you are in business.

Where can I find Help ?

  • In any screen of The Collector's Crown you can press the F1 key to access the Help Screen.

  • You may also use the F4 key to view a list of shortcut keys available on this screen.

  • If this does not answer your query, try the Support Button on this Web Site, and we'll do our best.

How do I customize The Collector's Crown ?

  • From the Set Up screen.
  • You can set the program directories (or change them)

Using the Customize menu, you may:

  • Change the Form Title font
  • Change the Form Title style
  • Change the Label font
  • Change the Data font
  • Change the Background picture
  • Change the Field Border style
  • Change the Picture Frame style
  • Change the Button style
  • Change the Report background
  • and change the alternate report background color.

How do I convert my current collection to The Collector's Crown ?
  • This is unfortunately not a simple matter.
  • First create a new directory, and load all your pictures into it - but only one picture per record.
  • Then, from the Import/Export menu select import all from directory or camera. Select this directory.
  • In the following dialogs, select the option to create a new record for each picture. This will create a new record for each picture, converting the picture if necessary to a .jpg file, and copying this file to the correct directory in The Collector's Crown.
  • You will now have to manually copy & paste all your data to their respective data fields in their records, and afterwards add any remaining pictures to the record.
  • Tip : Save your records frequently during this operation. There is nothing so frustrating as spending a few hours in this operation, and then having a power failure or computer crash and losing all your work.

Why does the Registration Form want so much information about me ?

  • The registration is installation specific. That means if you want to install the program on another computer or re-install it after a complete computer crash, you will have to re-register the program.
  • To avoid having to charge you again the full price, it is necessary to be able to identify you, so that we know you have purchased the program. This way we can re-register you without charging you again.

What kind of a system do I need to run The Collector's Crown ?
  • The Collector's Crown depends of its working on many factors:
  • First of all, you will need a fast processor together with a uptodate video card. The program is very graphics intensive, and will otherwise run very slowly. Any system that is running Windows Vista, will run the program at a satisfactory speed.
  • You will need a Printer, Scanner and DVD drive, as well as access to the internet, possibly your own DVD player program, and a proper e-mail program and a good drawing program, all properly installed.
  • You will also need the licenses to play DVD's and mp3's etc.
  • And lastly you will find that a free e-mail address such as Yahoo or MSN mail will probably not work, which is why you need an e-mail program - the addresses will work, but internet mail will not.
  • A DVD player is not included in the program, and you will need the licenses to play DVD's etc.
